How to Get Back the Old Google Chrome 'New Tab' User Interface?

Google Chrome Updated New TabIf you visited Google Chrome recently and tried to open a new tab, you may see a new redefined New Tab listings. You will see Google logo, it will change when a new Doodle is launched and a search box, this will let you to search directly and recently visited sites below of search box.

And the Apps icon is placed at the top left corner of browser where you will find installed chrome apps. This is instant version of Google homepage where you will find different services of Google, Google Plus notifications.

But many are not liking this new update (Even myself!). Whenever I open a new tab, I directly go to Google homepage and mostly I use Chrome apps. Another problem is that I don't want any of my pages to be shown when I open a new tab.

So, from above problems I wanted to switch to previous version of new tab window and I have done it. I will show you the way to that.

UPDATE: Below advised method is no longer in use as 'Enable Instant Extended API' option is removed from 'chrome://flags/'. So, in replacement of that option, you can use this Chrome Extension called 'Show Apps in new tab', which will restore previous new tab interface.

Change it to Previous New Tab UI:

1) Open a new tab in Google Chrome and enter 'chrome://flags/'.

2) After accessing above page, search for 'Enable Instant Extended API' option.

3) You will be shown it as default, but change it to 'Disable' option.

That's it! After disabling it, the previous new tab UI will be restored. This is because many are not happy with this new update. If you want it back, simply change it to 'Default' again.

What do you say about this new update for Google Chrome Browser?

Excellent post Harish. Found a similar one with screenshots - http://www.fixnowsupport.com/3/post/2013/10/switch-back-to-google-chromes-old-new-tab-interface.html   For others if you are confused where to go.
I love the old interface. Don't see a point of the Google Search, when all it does is take whatever you type back into the omnibar. I also don't like how the Apps are moved into a separate menu.
Everything was great in Chrome but I guess things are getting much worse now.
